Our Background

We are BBQ Professionals who have competed in several PRO Circuits, such as the SLBS, KCBS and SCA. Over the years, we have cooked against some of the best talent in the BBQ World. We have taken their classes, spent countless hours mastering recipes and shared commentary with a host of hundreds of the best BBQ folks on the planet. We are honored to be able to move our passion and love of BBQ into the space we now call our business.  With that concept in mind, we have named our company The Purpose

The Team

Jeff Bartels and Tyler Davis started out as weekend backyard BBQ cooks. Through mutual friends, they both joined Competition BBQ Team Meat Candy in 2014. They quickly became friends and served as Ancillary cooks and focused primarily with “On Site Presentation” Events. They did extremely well and took home a fair amount of awards. The Team did exceptionally well too and began winning Championships in the St Louis BBQ Society.
